!±8± Communicate a Clear Vision to Your Sales Staff

One of the most important aspects of any project management is the definition of a clear vision and the outcome. Always remembers that the most important part of your business is not the product you produced, but the people who work in your company, and the people you serve your products to. The best leaders do not provide a step-by-step instruction book for their staff, they contribute strong visions and a solid strategy toward achieving them. Aligned with a passionate belief in achievement, strong goal setting, and a clear path toward the goal most staff members will reach further than they thought possible.

One of the worst things a new manager of CEO can do for his company is to lay out an all-inclusive strategy that covers every possible scenario that might be encountered in the next 10 years. Firstly, because this document would be thousands of pages long and more boring than any legal document you've ever read. And secondly, because 90% of the perceived occurrences would never happen. Nobody has a crystal ball, and nobody can tell the future. Therefore it's better to have a general strategy that promotes solid growth, independence, and the flexibility to change toward a strongly defined mission statement.

It's up to the leader to define a strong vision. And once the vision has been communicated, it's up to the team to make that vision a reality. Any leader who is spending more time on the detail is likely to be over managing. Its much more important to deliver good directions and empower your teem to figure out the exact path toward the goal.

A competent team with the freedom and power to in act there ideas will always achieve more than those who are restricted. In order to have a confident and passionate team make sure you allow them to make decisions on the road and think for themselves. Set goals are hard to achieve, and don't punish them are trying.
